Ticket value calculator
Every prize tier adds a little value to a ticket, and a bigger jackpot adds more. See how the jackpot, taxes and the number of tickets sold change what a ticket is worth on average.
How it's calculated
- Each prize tier's official odds times its prize, added up. For Mega Millions, non-jackpot prizes use the average of the random multiplier (about 3X).
- Taxes are applied to prizes of $2,000 or more (the 2026 federal reporting threshold) at the rate you enter.
- If you enter tickets sold, the jackpot is reduced by the chance you'd have to share it with other winners.
- Powerball's optional Power Play is not included.
