Texas Pick 3 and Daily 4: Four Draws a Day

How Texas runs Pick 3 and Daily 4: four daily draws Monday to Saturday, Pick 3 draw times, play types, FIREBALL and the 180-day claim rule.

Written with AI help and checked against the sources below.

Texas gives daily-game players plenty of chances to watch a draw. Both Pick 3 and Daily 4 from the Texas Lottery are drawn four times a day, Monday through Saturday, and each draw comes with its own FIREBALL number. This guide covers how the schedule works, how you play, and what to know before you claim, all based on the Texas Lottery’s official game pages.

Four draw periods, six days a week

Texas splits its daily games into four named draws: Morning, Day, Evening and Night. The Texas Lottery says both games are played four times a day with drawings Monday through Saturday. The results pages list each date with all four draws side by side, plus a FIREBALL digit for each one.

The Pick 3 page gives the exact draw times and the “Draw Break” windows when tickets can’t be bought:

Draw Draw time (CT) Draw Break (CT)
Morning 10:00 a.m. 9:50 - 10:03 a.m.
Day 12:27 p.m. 12:17 - 12:30 p.m.
Evening 6:00 p.m. 5:50 - 6:03 p.m.
Night 10:12 p.m. 10:02 - 10:15 p.m.

The Daily 4 page uses the same four draw names. Its draw times weren’t in the material we used for this guide, so check the official Daily 4 page or the Texas Lottery drawings schedule before you rely on a specific time.

How to play Texas Pick 3

Grab a Pick 3 playslip from a Texas Lottery retailer and choose three single-digit numbers from 0 to 9. You can also mark the “QP” box, or ask the retailer for a Quick Pick and let the terminal choose for you.

Next, pick how you want to play your numbers. Texas offers four options:

  • Exact Order: you win if your numbers match the winning numbers in the exact order drawn.
  • Any Order: you win if your numbers match the winning numbers in any order.
  • Exact/Any Order: for a little extra money, you play both Exact Order and Any Order.
  • Combo: a convenient way to play all possible Exact Order combinations on one ticket.

After that, choose your play amount. The pages we drew on don’t list prices or prize amounts, so look at the official Texas Lottery prize information or ask your retailer before you play. For a broader look at play styles across states, see ways to play Pick games.

The odds behind the play types

Pick 3 has 1,000 possible numbers (000 to 999), so an Exact Order play has 1 in 1,000 odds. Any Order works like a box: it covers every order of your digits. With three different digits that’s 6 orders (6-way), and with one repeated digit it’s 3 orders (3-way).

Daily 4 draws four digits, giving 10,000 possible numbers, so a single exact-order match is 1 in 10,000. Want to see how the numbers work for a specific combination? Try the Pick calculator.

Every draw is random. Past results, repeat digits or long gaps don’t change what comes next. For more on why, read how lottery drawings work.

FIREBALL in Texas

After every Pick 3 drawing, the Texas Lottery draws one FIREBALL number from 0 to 9. If you add FIREBALL, you can swap any one of the three drawn Pick 3 numbers for the FIREBALL number to create extra prize-winning combinations. Match one of those and you win a prize.

To add it, mark the “YES” box on your playslip. Adding FIREBALL doubles the cost of each Pick 3 board played. Daily 4 results also show a FIREBALL number with each draw. Our FIREBALL explainer walks through the idea in more detail.

Multi-Draw and choosing a draw time

With Pick 3, you can play the same numbers for more than one drawing by marking a “MULTI-DRAW” box, for up to 24 consecutive drawings. You can also stick to a single draw period. Mark MORNING, DAY, EVENING or NIGHT, then choose how many drawings you want.

Checking results and claiming

The Texas Lottery lists several ways to check your Pick 3 numbers:

  • The Check Your Numbers feature on its website
  • The “Winning Numbers & Jackpots” screen in the Texas Lottery App
  • A Check-a-Ticket machine at any licensed retailer
  • Live webcasts of the official drawings
  • Your local newspaper

Two rules apply to both games. If the posted numbers ever differ from the official drawing results, the official results prevail. And tickets must be claimed no later than 180 days after the draw date. A ticket isn’t a valid winner until it’s presented for payment and meets the Texas Lottery’s validation requirements. Our guide on how to claim a lottery prize covers the general process.
