Sunday matinee. The wand stayed in my hand the entire show. I was so shocked I forgot the spell and just said "ta-da."

New spell rhymes "lighthouse" with "wand-house." Not a word. The audience clapped politely, which is how I know they adore me.

Behold! I shook the crystal ball (souvenir snow globe), sneezed glitter everywhere, and the snow settled like this.

Tonight's spell, composed at a red light: "Swirly snow and shiny foam, show some numbers, then go home." The lighthouse did not clap.

Ahem. Presenting the Great Otto Glitterfumble! I’m a stage wizard with a velvet cape, a wand that keeps escaping, and a crystal ball that is, strictly speaking, a souvenir snow globe with a tiny plastic lighthouse inside.
I shake the snow globe with a grand flourish, recite a spell I made up in the car, and usually sneeze into a cloud of craft glitter. When the snow settles, I announce the numbers in my most mysterious voice. The audience claps politely. The lighthouse remains unimpressed.
